ASRock Shows Off AMD Radeon RX 5000 Navi Graphics Card Concepts

ASRock has just revealed their latest graphics card concepts for AMD Radeon RX 5000 series which is based on the Navi GPU architecture. Yesterday, AMD officially announced their Ryzen 3000 CPUs and Radeon RX 5000 GPUs for consumers which are planned for launch in Q3 2019.

AMD Radeon RX 5000 Navi Graphics Cards Concepts Shown By ASRock – Phantom Gaming Aiming The High-End and Taichi Aiming The Mainstream Market

There were a total of three concepts graphics cards shown by ASRock for AMD’s next-gen GPUs which include Navi based Radeon RX 5000 series. We don’t have any specifications for the new cards by AMD at the moment but the red team did reveal that more details are expected to come by at their Next Horizon Gaming Event at E3.

There are currently three very early concepts shown by ASRock for the AMD Radeon RX 5000 series based on the Navi GPUs. These include two models which are part of the Phantom Gaming line and a single model which is part of the Taichi series. ASRock mentioned that while they have not yet finalized the segment tier for each specific line, it seems like they would end up using the Taichi line for the mainstream market while the Phantom Gaming lineup would consist of both High-End and mainstream models.

All three models that were shown by ASRock are triple fan designs with the Phantom Gaming cards extending beyond the standard 2.5 slot design. The three models also used proper aluminum fins and heatpipes configurations but we have been told that those aren’t final yet. It looks like we will get more information and finalized designs once AMD has the details unveiled by them at E3 2019.

Radeon RX 5000 ‘Navi GPU’ First Details Unveiled – Two SKUs With 180W and 150W TDPs

In addition to the concepts, we managed to grab some more details from our insiders at Computex who told us some info on the upcoming Radeon RX 5000 graphics cards. According to our sources, the AMD Radeon RX 5000 series is said to feature two variants, a 180W TDP model with 225W TBP (Total Board Power) and a 150W TDP model with a 180W TBP (Total Board Power). AMD showed a demo of their Radeon RX 5700 graphics card against the GeForce RTX 2070 which itself is a 180W TDP graphics card.

The AMD Radeon RX 5700 was 10% faster in the demo shown by AMD so for the same amount of TDP, that’s pretty good and means that AMD is taking full advantage of that 7nm process node for enhanced efficiency. We also heard from a few manufacturers that Radeon RX 5000 series models are expected to arrive in September. They were probably talking about their own custom high end designs but I guess we will know for sure in a few weeks from E3 2019.
