When one enables the flash archive it automatically is compressed to conserve the space and occupy.
Once the row versions are compressed one cannot use the DROP or TRUNCATE statement. Also one cannot modify the historical versions.
This archiving operation is a complete online operation where no downtime is expected and is enabled on a table basis.
Please note that while archiving data if the quota increases then the further transactions are blocked.
