Verifying the installation of Oracle 12C

Step1: As soon as we double click on the set up a pop up comes up .
Click Yes in the User Account Control window to continue with the installation.

Step 2: The Configure Security Updates window appears. Please enter your email address and the Oracle Support password if one wish to receive the security issue notifications via email .

Click Next to continue.

Step 3: The next window appears where we have to select the type of installation.

Select the create and configure database type.

Step 4. The next step involves the selecting of the system class. Select the desktop class by default.

The following figure 4.11 shows the same and involves selecting the system class.

The above figure shows the actual Install Configuration window.

Please note that by default, the oracle installer creates a container database along with a pluggable database called “pdborcl”.

The pluggable database by default contains the sample HR schema. You need to change the global database name and the administrative password.

Step 6:- In the next step the prerequisites are checked and the system requirements are verified and the summary of the same are shown. Click on Install after the settings are verified as shown in Fig 4.14 and 4.15

Step 7: In this step the installation of the Oracle 12C is shown. The installation is in progress and very soon the process completes with the creation of a Oracle database configuration assistant and a data manager and the setup is installed as shown in Fig 4.16

Step 8: Soon after the database configuration assistant creates the database, one can easily navigate to https://localhost:5500/em .

Click on Ok to continue the process.

The finish window appears as shown in fig 4.18 . Click on Close to exit the Oracle installer.
