Register for Hingham Girls Hockey
HINGHAM – Hingham Girls Hockey is pleased to announce that registration is open for its popular Learn to Play program for the 2022-23 season.
The goal of the Learn to Play program is to introduce young girls ages 5 and up to skating and hockey in a fun environment. The format for the sessions will include instruction in skating techniques and puck skills following USA Hockey’s ADM model. Small area games will conclude each practice. For the upcoming season the Learn to Play program will have two sessions.
The schedule will include skills sessions twice per week on Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings on the middle rink at Pilgrim. The fall session will begin on Wednesday, September 14th.
Registration for the Hingham Girls Hockey Learn to Play program is now open on the Hingham Girls Hockey website www.hinghamgirlshockey.org. A jersey will be provided. Questions may be addressed to [email protected].
McBride take his best shot at helping cure cancer
HINGHAM – Hingham High rising senior and team captain Liam McBride represented Harbormen basketball at the 10th Annual A Shot for Life Competition at the U in Hanover.
The 16 top shooters in the state were selected to compete in the competition and the opportunity to be named The Best Shooter in Massachusetts, all while raising money towards the fight against cancer. Participants shot continuously for two hours from a variety of levels, featuring free throws, mid-range shots, and three-pointers.
McBride finished in second place making an impressive 86.1% of his shots, just shy of the winner, Trevor Mullins of St. Sebastian’s School, who made 87.1%.
Over $40,000 was raised for cancer research at the event.
