It appears that Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, are the Cambridge kids no longer.
Recently, the trio’s parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, received new titles following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8. While at first the pair were named as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall, the new King Charles III then bestowed upon them the title of Prince and Princess of Wales.

In his first address as monarch, King Charles revealed the pair’s new titles, saying, “Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales. With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations.”
This was significant given that the titles used to belong to King Charles and his late ex-wife, Princess Diana, making Middleton the first woman to use the Princess of Wales title in over 20 years.
But, the moment was also significant in that Prince William and Middleton’s three children have now also undergone a name change. While the three used the surname of Cambridge when their parents were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, now their last name has technically changed to Wales.
Town & Country pointed out this official change by noting that at Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral service, George and Charlotte were listed by Buckingham Palace as “Prince George of Wales” and “Princess Charlotte of Wales.” (Prince Louis was not in attendance at the formal event.)

Right before the queen’s passing, the young royals started at a new school—Lambrook School—and we had previously learned, per The Daily Express, that the trio would likely be dropping their royal titles and merely going by their first names and the title Cambridge.
But now with these changes, the children will likely be going by the names George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales.
